Parklife on the Doorstep

Visually and performatively green, the Green Loop is diverse in character, reflecting each micro-neighbourhood it connects, allowing multiple layers of programme and functions to coexist. Its capabilities include local play, school activities, growing space, sustainable drainage, access, cycle lanes and parkland walks, creating an environment where everyone is welcome, a place for communities to live locally and joyfully.

There is nothing better than a scale model to make everyone aware of how a proposal works within its context. This wooden model of Bergsvåg is a perfect example, communicating the harmony between the topography and the project

Paushuset .02

The design concept is based on a composition of staggered volumes, varying façade depths and generous roof terraces, all reacting to various heights of the site and the surrounding buildings. Such approach creates a distinct silhouette with an expressive urban character.

Paushuset .01

We are thrilled to share with you our vision for the transformation of Paushuset, a prominent city block located on the town square of Enköping!
The main goal is to create a vibrant and genuine meeting place for the local community, preserving the existing qualities as well as enhancing the city centre.

Diversity is a core principle in shaping rich urban environments with distinct characters offering many places to call home, places with unique identity, local atmosphere and opportunities for flourishing communities. Through granular approach to development phases and masterplan zones, a higher degree of flexibility is introduced to adapt to the emerging community needs over time.

The Forests of Venice
Pavilion plan .03

The plan creates an internal space wrapped around the visitors.
The orientation of the timber elements allows for vertical openings, directing the view upwards to the sky; providing shelter, safety and evoking a sense of calmness with a focus on human senses and community feeling.

The Forests of Venice
Pavilion plan .02

The pavilion was composed of 276 cross-laminated timber elements, industrially produced in northern Sweden, shipped to Venice, and assembled on site.
The logistics and the constraints of the building material dictated the pavilion’s structural composition and informed the design process.

The Forests of Venice
Pavilion plan .01

This plan drawing takes us back to 2016, to our contribution to the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
The design of our outdoor timber pavilion was inspired by the 10 million trees used as the foundation of the Italian city, creating a space for informal meetings, providing a kind of forested place, offering a variation of intensified spatial experiences of material and interplay of light and shadow.

“It (only) takes a block to create a more sustainable, high-quality urban life”.

A new urban typology for a community sharing resources, time and knowledge. Compact private dwellings promote decreasing carbon footprint and living cost through the integration of common spaces for urban farming, carpool, bicycle-sharing and shared social facilities, such as neighbourhood canteen, rehearsal studio and a community workshop.

Green Loop, a place full of life

The Green Loop is a place where children and older people alike can use the urban
environment in an equal, safe and independent way. It’s part of an everyday experience; a place to walk to school, to workplaces, to after school activities and back home. It is a place to meet, play, run, learn how to cycle, go for a walk, or just spend time – with others or alone.

The Green Loop is a place for everyone; with pocket parks, play, meeting places and public amenities, all connected and close to home- with the park on your doorstep. It´s about bringing people together around a safe, inclusive, and dedicated pathway for walking, biking, rolling and strolling.

Town square and vibrant city centre

The transformation of Paushuset aims to provide Enköping with a lively centre and identify the main square as an important place for the whole town; a vibrant and inviting destination to create a genuine meeting place both indoors and outdoors.

The transformation of Paushuset is a collaboration between Kjellander Sjöberg, ALM Småa Bostad, Andersson Company and Enköping Municipality.

Citadellskajen
Brick and steel

The project’s visual proximity to the 16th century Malmö Castle with its diverse dilapidated walls has inspired us to use bricks with a contemporary interpretation. The brickwork has been supplemented with braided steel screens and steel pillars.
