We would like to congratulate the city of Malmö for being nominated for the Planpriset award with the development of Sege Park. It is very exciting for us to be a part of the project from its early stage with our award-winning proposal “It Takes a Block”, introducing a new urban typology for a community sharing of resources, time and knowledge.
With a large amount of shared spaces designated, and by keeping private dwellings compact, our block promotes decreasing carbon footprint and cost of living to its residents. Integrating common spaces for urban farming, carpool, bicycle-sharing and shared social facilities, such as neighbourhood canteen, rehearsal studio and a community workshop, our statement is that “It (only) takes a block to create a more sustainable, high-quality urban life”.
