KS and Balder in a new collaboration for Nacka Port
Planning application for two new high-rise buildings with 38 and 30 floors in Sickla, on the border between Stockholm and Nacka, is underway. The scheme is called Nacka Port and is set to become the new entry point to the district of Nacka.
KS won the invited architectural competition in 2018 and since then has been developing the design, improving its qualities and feasibility.
Balder has recently formed a joint venture with VästkustStugan, Mjöbäcks Entreprenad and Innovation Properties to build Stockholm’s tallest residential building.
The project will comprise residential units and retail spaces such as a restaurant, delicatessen, bakery, bicycle workshop and more to create a vibrant city life. Residents will have access to a gym and a community space up in the towers, offering unique vistas over Stockholm’s inner city, the bay as well as the Nacka nature reserve. In addition to the high-rises, the culturally and historically valuable Färgfabriken Klinten will be renovated to regain its former glory. The ambition is to take advantage of the creative atmosphere present in the building today.
