The new facade is to be built from reused old bricks of different sizes and colours, combined into a vibrant modern pattern whilst paying tribute to the industrial heritage of the area.

?The project is a collaboration with Midroc.

?How beautiful is the visible structural frame of the Magnolia restaurant? Timber as the main material in combination with the diagonal form of the carcass provides a unique character to the building.

We believe that many, perhaps even nearly all the answers can be found in a meaningful, precise, and sensitive design of the urban fabric.
Good architecture and city planning often inherently achieve material sustainability. It also provides a spatial context for thriving public space as well as social dynamics of progress and renewal.

4th Jun 2020 — Instagram

The main focus of the KS studio design is to visualize processes and what we do; both for ourselves and for others, displaying what we think, manufacture and produce.

3rd Jun 2020 — Instagram

Our Stockholm Studio is a distinct place for making architecture, designed for active collaboration with spaces fit for the entire creative process.

Faaborg 02:
Kulturområdet contains three significant old buildings – Faaborg Museum, Lundgaard Tranberg’s CHP plant and Forum Faaborg. The museum is to be surrounded by a new cultural park and the soon to be discontinued CHP plant is set to house a new wellness actor, Kurkultur Faaborg.

Faaborg .01
A significant part of the competition brief focused on developing three key areas of the city – Slagterigrunden, Bangården and Kulturområdet – each with its own distinct character.
This illustration shows KS’s proposal for Kulturområdet.

Ribosomen is a residential scheme, relating strongly to the classical 19th century typology of the Vasastan area in Stockholm.
?The proposal follows the local urban design principles and takes advantage of its location between two parks, interlinking them via a passage and an open green courtyard.

KS’s exhibition showcasing two of our recent projects is still on display in the shopfront of the Malmö Shop.
Safe to visit during these times!

Museum of Forest Finn Culture
Section .03
The roof has a strong form and distinctive shape, seemingly hovering above the ground. Its generous eaves offer a public space along the facade, protected from the elements.

Museum of Forest Finn Culture
Section .02
The design concept of the museum is inspired by the burn-beating technique and the unique landscape surrounding the site. The floor represents the burnt ground, the pillars illustrate tree trunks and the roof constitutes the forest canopy.

Construction works have begun by reintroducing the bricked-up openings. Our ideas for Gjuteriet are slowly becoming reality.
?We are so excited to witness the process!

29th Apr 2020 — Instagram

Every project is unique.
?We always start with an extensive research, analysis, collecting ideas and identifying the possibilities. To find a new approach to each task, we recompose the programme, address local conditions and site, identifying cultural context and social connections.

28th Apr 2020 — Instagram

What are the possibilities of this place?
?To get ideas of what it could become, we began by looking back on the industrial heritage of the building. Although the entire area will undergo a major transformation, traces of its history will remain present.
